"Mini" Thanks

I made these cute mini 3x3 Thanksgiving cards for friends/teachers last week and I like how they turned out. These cards are the perfect way to give thanks for impacting my life.
As the Word says (paraphrasing)- give thanks always for all things...Truly an excellent way to live!

Daily Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a almost here and ready or not, here it will be! I'm not much of a holiday person because I believe every day is special and significant but in preparation for giving simple teacher gifts, I wanted to make a few Thanksgiving cards to let the elementary school staff know how much I appreciate all of their efforts in educating my daughter. She is allowed to shine her light of Christ and make a difference in her world- I'm so proud of her!!!

Many Thanks!

It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner! We're all ready for a much needed break and a time to fellowship with family...  A few weeks ago I made this colorful card using most of my 'thank you' stamps. I also used washi tape, paperclip and string. Simple in a busy sort of way but fun since it gave me a chance to use a lot of stamps. Enjoy the day.

Happy Halloween!

It's that time of year again- my 2nd grader is having her class Halloween party and all of the parents were asked to bring treats. I know that all of the kids will be soon swamped with candy-galore so I resorted to my default treat- kettle corn! It's so simple and yummy that we put together 16 bags in no time at all. I used the black Halloween stickers from the 'Boo-tiful Bags' My Paper Pumpkin kit.

It was fun to do this with the girls and I know that this will continue to be my go-to class treats tradition. Happy Halloween!

Starry Night

This week I wanted to branch out from my usual cardstock color choice and use black. I am an avid fan of SU black cardstock- it's so crisp, deep color, smooth, etc. It's my top choice for paper...  I wanted to play with the WISH letters from the MPP kit and make some quick embossed cards for some friends with October birthdays. These turned out nicely and I like the color combos.

Enjoy your day!

Watercolor

I have always appreciated the art of watercolor- it's as if you can't mess up because the blend of colors always turns out so beautiful...My mother-in-law is a gifted watercolor artist and many months ago she gave me some watercolor paper that I've been wanting to use for a project.

I was inspired to try this technique after watching Kim Skinner of Stampin Imperfection thanksgiving decor video.  Inking directly on my SU acrylic block I used the colors Crumb Cake, Tango Mandarine and Bravo Burgundy to make a 'fallish' card. These cards were made for 2 dear friends and I hope they like it.

Enjoy the day!

Stars and Hearts 3x3 Cards

I'm running low on teacher notes so I thought I'd make a quick stash using the 'Wish Upon a Star' MPP kit. I love this set because it came with a LOT of stuff that I can continually use and get inspiration from. The other day I was checking out a Youtube video by an amazing crafty woman named Rachel Tessman of StampYourArtOut.com I used her great idea to cut the white 5.5x4.25 card in half and embellish it was shapes and simple sentiments. I also love her idea of using the box as a stationary card holder- quick, easy and BRILLIANT! Thank you Rachel for sparking my creativity! This was a fun project and I'm linking over to my usual favorite hangout of My Pumpkin Challenge and participating in the 'Sweets and Treats' party. I've got to get on the ball with those burlap bags so stay tuned for another post- I hope!

My cards are sweet and I know my daughter's teachers will like the treat!
