Moving Parts

For the past few days I've been mulling over the latest My Paper Pumpkin kit 'Pedal Praise'. It's an interesting set and so far I have enjoyed exploring the many options with the colors, sentiment and the bike. The thing that gets me though is the honeycomb tape, the polka dot card stock and the pennants. They just seem out of place to what could have been a fantastic set; however, that's the beauty of the MPP, it's simplicity and flow with other stamps is limitless. What I perceive as quirky someone else may think it quite marvelous!

I'm not a fan of cutting out shapes by hand but I decided to give it a go with this set. I have an electronic cutter and wonderful software from Make the Cut that would be a breeze but I decided to go old school (rock, paper, scissors, anyone?) and save the technology for another day.

My theme for this card was motion and I immediately thought of my brother-in-law and his (new) wife who are avid bikers. I stamped the bike image, pierced a hole in the center of the wheel and threaded bakers twine on the bike so that you can move the bikes up and down. My girls like this card and I'm pleased with the results. The shape I focused on is LINES- flag poles, streets, DSP, etc.)

I'm linking up with my favorite party place at My Pumpkin Challenge site.
Washi tape goes 'street style'!

  1. This card is awesome! I agree, sometimes it takes a few minutes to see how everything will tie in together when we first see what is in the kit! I love that the bikes can move! Thanks for sharing over at the Pumpkin Challenge. Great job!
